St. Paddy's Day 2008

St. Paddy’s Day is an all-day, all-Irish party in Snowmass.  It’s time to Shamrock & Roll at this 5th anniversary celebration! 

 

Schedule: March 17
All Day Leprechaun Goodies
Keep your eyes out on Fanny Hill and the Snowmass Village Mall for lucky leprechauns handing out goodies such as necklaces, Irish hats, bubbles, stickers, balls & more.
 
9am-2pm What: Lucky Leprechaun Scavenger Hunts for Adults & Children
Where:
Ticket Pavilion, Snowmass Mountain, Fanny Hill
Description:
Kids and adults can search for a pot of gold prizes in this scavenger hunt on Fanny Hill. FREE ACTIVITY

Noon-4pm What: Family Fun Irish-style!
Where:
Snowmass Village Mall Mid-Mall
Description: Guided by favorite local performers Jammin' Jim and Sparkles the Clown, kids can make arts & crafts for costumes to march along with the Pipe and Drum marchers and have their faces painted emerald designs.

Where:

Description: Raise a pint to the Irish at one of the Beer Garden and Food Tents serving traditional Irish fare and hearty green Irish beer.
Green Irish Beer, Import Beer, and Irish Cordials available (including Skyy Vodka, Corolans Irish Creme, and Tullamore Irish Whisky).

What: El Jebel Shrine Pipe Band
Where:

Description:
This bagpipe and drum troupe parades up and down the mall filling the air with traditional Irish bagpipe tunes. The El Jebel Shrine Pipe Band is the oldest Pipe Band in Colorado, formed in 1963 at the El Jebel Shrine Center in Denver. For more information,

These dancers perform traditional Irish dances and jigs.

Where:
Snowmass Village Mall
Description: Mondragon is a collective of musicians whose roots delve into folk, classical, jazz, and rock, and it blooms with a unique style that takes traditional tunes and flirts with dimension. Popular at Renaissance festivals all over the west, Mondragon possesses a deep love for both historical tradition and contemporary style with an energy that is contagious.

Description:
With years of consistent national touring and collective song writing and two CDs under their belt, Outformation has a growing national fan base and has appeared at Bonnaroo, SXSW, Hi Sierra Music Festival, Magnoliafest, and Wakarusa. Air Service:

Ground Transportation:
Car Rental:

Train:
Amtrak offers a scenic way to travel through the Rocky Mountains and can drop passengers off just 40 miles from Snowmass, where they can pick up a taxi service or public transportation to Snowmass. The California Zephyr provides daily service from Chicago and San Francisco to Glenwood Springs. 1-800-USA-RAIL or www.amtrak.com

Shuttle:
Colorado Mountain Express (800-525-6363) offers shuttle or private car service from Denver International Airport and Eagle airport. Local group and private transportation also is available.

 

Getting Around Snowmass

Public Transportation:
The Snowmass Village Shuttle provides frequent free service to all condominiums, hotels, and key commercial areas in Snowmass. (970-923-3500).
 

RFTA Public Transportation to Aspen and down valley locations also run twice an hour for a nominal fee (970-925-8484).
