August 8-9, 2008

The Snowmagical Family Fun Fest is a free magical extravaganza for the whole family. Families can check out the continuous magic and puppet shows, street entertainers, and puppet making & juggling workshops. Musicians, mimes, stage shows, interactive fun, and a Magical Dine-Around on Saturday night make this a must-see summer weekend for families. The best part is that virtually all activities are free.

"It's a huge, affordable, family-oriented weekend," says event organizer Doc Eason, who has run the festival for 27 years and won Hollywood's prestigious Academy of Magical Arts' first ever Bar Magician of the Year award. "And when I say family, I don't mean there's only a bunch of clowns running around for little kiddies. These are national multi-level entertainers and performances that will appeal to the biggest and littlest kid in every family. It's outstanding family entertainment in a beautiful resort at a great time of year to head to the mountains."

2008 Confirmed Performers:
Doc Eason
The man behind this event for the past 25 years is Doc Eason. When it was first proposed that Snowmass should have a Magic and Puppet Festival in 1981, Doc was 4 years into his burgeoning career as the magic bartender at the Tower. His tenure at the Tower Magic Bar paralleled this event until the Magic Bar closed in 2004. He started this before he had children of his own, and now his oldest son is 22 years old! Several times in the past 25 years the festival's future seemed precarious, but Doc was determined not to let this event die. For several years he actually raised the money himself to keep the continuity of what has grown into a major summer event. In what might be called a labor of love, he has kept this major family festival alive in this premier family resort. He is especially excited about the talent lineup for this year. It is indeed the biggest festival of all 25.
